Dianne Wheare
Registered Psychologist
Dianne is a Registered Psychologist with 20 years’ experience working with adolescents, adults, and families who have presented with mood disorders, anxiety disorders including obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship breakdown, work conflict, family crisis, trauma, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Dianne has special interest in women’s health and the interactions between mind and body in disorders such as post-natal depression and anxiety, together with the stress that accompanies major lifestyle transitions.
Dianne works from a psychodynamic approach focussing on a client’s family history, relationships & significant events, to gain an understanding of their individual responses to trauma and life stressors. She utilises aspects of Schema Focused Therapy, ACT and CBT to examine the schemas and beliefs about self and others that have developed through life.
Dianne believes that a warm, compassionate approach and respect for a client’s story, assists them to develop understanding of themselves and be supported to adopt coping strategies to restore their overall physical and mental health.
